Strategy and Planning Manager

Our client, a leading financial services provider with a reputation for excellence in both products and service, has recently established a high level internal strategy consultancy. Reporting at Board level, the team fulfils a critical role in helping shape future strategic direction, advising on high-value issues spanning all areas of the business. Already recognised as a key contributor, both in terms of current and future imperatives, the team now has an enviable opening for a high calibre professional to take up an important Strategy Analyst role. With a brief embracing such activities as analysis of profitability, competitive structure, regulation and trends in product markets and geographies; research into competitors’ performance, strategy and business models; assessment of business unit strategies, this role represents a unique opportunity to influence the medium to long-term direction of the business. To be successful therefore, the person appointed will need to offer the full range of technical, interpersonal and commercial awareness skills, underpinned by an impressive academic pedigree (minimum 2:1 numerate degree from a leading university} and proven experience of working in a strategy or similar problem solving department of a UK blue chip corporate, strategy consultancy or leading investment bank. A determination to achieve is also an essential motivator, with precedent indicating that future opportunity for merit based career development will be considerable.
